‘The Breakfast Club’ actress Molly Ringwald has just finished the final touches on a brand new jazz album. The new record will actually be the second in her arsenal, the first having been recorded over 36 years ago when she was just 6 years old. Sources say that the actress turned singer completed work on the album hours before she was scheduled to take stage at the Oscars to pay tribute to director and friend John Hughes. Molly said “I’m really excited about it. I haven’t come up with a name yet but it’s with my quintet that I’ve been performing with a lot in the Los Angeles area.” I wonder if she’s any good.

It was a sold out show Tuesday night at the Flamingo and Marie and Donny Osmond took the stage for their Las Vegas show, only a day after Marie laid her son, Michael Bryan, to rest. The audience looked on as Marie worked through her performances with tears in her eyes and shakiness in her voice. The singer explained to the crowd that she was dedicating the song to her angel and she knew that he would want her to carry on. Marie said “The way Osmonds survive is we keep singing. That’s what we want to do tonight. I know my son would want that and this show is for him.”

Pink Floyd is currently in a legal battle with their label, EMI Group Ltd, over what kind of royalty payments that the band should be awarded in the age of digital music. The iconic rock group’s lawyer claims that their contract prohibits selling tracks “otherwise than in the original configuration of the Pink Floyd albums” while EMI says the rule only covers their physical albums. EMI should just pay up. Pink Floyd has been with them since 1967. I don’t think they’d want to screw them over now or the band might decide to up and leave. That will definitely not be good.

Rolling Stones star Ronnie Wood has been staying off the booze with a little help from his celebrity pals.

Wood, 62, has been battling an addiction to alcohol and said he was afraid he’d end up back in rehab when he was given anti-craving drugs.

But his bandmate Mick Jagger and friends Sir Elton John and Rod Stewart have reportedly been helping him by offering words of support.

According to UK newspaper The Sun, he said to a friend: “Now I know everyone’s behind me, I’m desperate to give up for good. Mick Jagger calls me every few days.”

The source added: “He is doing really well.”

Ice Cube is planning to reunite with his former NWA band mate Dr. Dre on his upcoming album ‘I Am the West’. The rapper explained on his blog “I wanna answer a few questions you have for ya’ boy – Beats by Dre? Not yet. Haven’t asked him, but I will. Any collabos? Not yet. I would give you guys the concept but I’mma save that and let you see it for yourself. Now I know it seems like my record is West Coast crazy- Yeah it is. But I got a lot of real s**t to say on this record just like I always do. So my political fans won’t be disappointed.” It doesn’t sound like it’s set in stone yet so don’t hold your breath.
