And it seems it is in very, very short supply. The singer was apparently very furious with her limo driver who was two minutes late to pick her up at the airport. Wow… not even Mariah Carey would’ve had that short a fuse… she would’ve probably given the man thirty seconds or one minute extra. Moreover, Whitney Houston even started taking it out on innocent travelers, even one who whished her a good day. Who would’ve imagined she of all people would have such a short fuse? The divas of today should watch out because it looks like they have some serious competition and Whitney Houston is probably not here to screw around either.
The comeback is assured! Not only is Whitney Houston back in the public eye, releasing a new record and being surrounded by controversy, but now she will also be performing at the American Music Awards as a special honoree. The event’s producer, Larry Klein, said the following about Whitney Houston getting back on their stage: “We’re honored to have Whitney Houston back on the AMA stage after 10 years. She has won the most AMAs of any female artist in history and is without a doubt an international superstar so it’s only fitting we honor her with the International Artist Award this year at such an important time in her career.” But their not going to be giving her any more awards right? Of course not… enough is too much, already! Leave a few morsels for the other under evolved species, will you please?
Pop singer Whitney Houston is set to embark on a European tour beginning in the UK on April 8. This will be the diva’s first full tour since her ‘My Love is Your Love’ tour back in 1999. Whitney is also scheduled to appear on Britain’s The X Factor on Sunday. In addition to the UK, she will also be making stops in Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Belgium. Surely, if she’s doing a European tour, an American tour will follow. Hey, it may even come before then considering that the European tour doesn’t start until April. I’m sure Whitney fans are eagerly waiting for that announcement.
During Oprah’s interview with Whitney Houston, the talk show host had some questions for the singer’s 15-year old daughter Bobbi Kristina. The diva’s little girl was asked whether she had plans on having her own singing career and following her mother’s footsteps, to which she replied “Yeah. I know she hates it, but it’s the plan. It’s my plan. Mine. Yeah.” Bobbi Kristina also talked about her relationship with Whitney saying “I’ve been there with her through everything and the whole divorce and talking and whatever, but you know, I stay by her side. That’s like my best friend you know, that’s like my sister.”
According to Nielsen/Soundscan, Whitney Houston’s greatly anticipated comeback album ‘I Looks to You’ has debuted at #1 on several charts all over the globe, including US Top Albums, R&B Albums and the top spot in Canada, Germany, Italy and Switzerland. The iconic singer sold 304,801 units in the first week of her album’s release in the US, which marks the best selling first week sales of her career and the best selling first week sales by a female artist this year. Congratulations are definitely due for Whitney! I’m sure her numbers will keep going up. I just love a great comeback story.
