One of the original Village People isn’t singing their songs anymore and he’s not happy that you think he is. Victor Willis, the original cop, wants the new version of the group to stop using his voice and likeness. He even filed a lawsuit last week to stop the unauthorized use. According to the suit, Victor claims that different companies continue to use his voice as well as his picture in order to promote the new group and their appearances. He claims that the use of his image and songs misleads fans into thinking they will be seeing the original Village People. He is seeking at least $1 million and an order by the judge that they can no longer use his voice or image.

That’s a point that may be arguable to some but it’s the truth for the Village People’s original resident police man. Victor Wills, who left the group way back in 1980, is in a San Diego hospital after having surgery on his vocal cords which developed nodules and made his voice go hoarse. Maybe that’s because of his coke use. He was popped back in 2006 for possession. Anyway, he had to cancel several European and Canadian concert dates on his solo tour because of the injury and the much needed recovery. I didn’t even know that he sang much less have a solo career and tour.

Randy Jones, more famously known as the cowboy form 70s man band The Village People, wants all the men in America to grow mustaches to raise money for Movember. What the heck?

The 55-year old macho man was spotted at The Grand in New York muttering something about having males all across North America compete in a mustache growing contest next month as part of a prostate cancer research charity called Movember.

Jones goes on to say that the winner will get a ‘great big prize’. Let me guess. It’s a free shave by any Village People member of your choice.
