Stevie Wonder broke down and nearly cried in the middle of a major televised performance – all because of Michael Jackson. The emotional breakdown took place on stage at the Rock and Roll 25th Hall of Fame Anniversary Concert which aired on HBO recently. The legendary singer sang the King of Pop’s ‘The Way You Make Me Feel’, when Stevie, still in distraught by the sudden death of his good friend, choked up, hunched over and put his face in his hands while the music kept on playing. Stevie eventually got himself together and finished the song, ultimately receiving a hug from John Legend and a huge ovation from the crowd.

Ticketless fans have been warned to stay away from Michael Jackson’s star-studded memorial service amid fears of riots.

Los Angeles police have urged people not to head to the Staples Center in the city’s downtown area for tomorrow’s event unless they are guaranteed entry.

Authorities fear that up to one million fans will descend on the city.

More than 1.6 million people entered a lottery to get tickets, but only 17,500 were successful.

Some tickets were being offered for sale on eBay for as much as $20,000 today.

British Airways said it had a “huge influx” of reservations over the past few days from British people hoping to make their way to the event – at an arena that can accommodate only 20,000.

Local police have been building barriers around the Staples Center.

Los Angeles Police Department Assistant Chief Jim McDonnell said: “Anybody who does not hold proper credentials, tickets to get in to the event, will not be allowed inside the security zone.”

Among the celebrities expected to pay tribute to the so-called King of Pop at the event include Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder, Justin Timberlake, Mariah Carey and Jennifer Hudson.

Longtime Jacko pal Elizabeth Taylor will reportedly read the eulogy, while other guests may include Whitney Houston, Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Lionel Richie, Liza Minnelli and Aretha Franklin.

Before the tribute, there will be a private ceremony for family at Forest Lawn cemetery.

It has been reported that Stevie Wonder’s son Keita Morris was busted by LAPD early Monday morning last week on charges of felony domestic violence. Law enforcement sources say that they received a call about a verbal argument between Morris and an unidentified woman. That argument apparently turned physical. It’s being said that when cops arrived, they noticed marks on the woman and took Morris into custody. The son of the legendary musician was held and $50,000 bond which he posted later that day. Morris is Stevie’s son from former girlfriend Yolanda Simmons. I wonder what Stevie’s thoughts are on the whole ordeal.

Stevie Wonder has received America’s highest award for pop music from US President Barack Obama. The singer was given the celebrated Library of Congress Gershwin Prize at a ceremony at the White House.

During his campaign trail during election time Obama had used Stevie Wonder’s classics Signed, Sealed, Delivered I’m Yours’ and Higher Ground as the theme songs for his electoral campaign.

The President paid his tribute to the star singer and said, “Stevie has always drawn on the incredible range of traditions in his music and, from that, he’s created a style that’s at once uniquely American, uniquely his own, and yet somehow universal. Indeed, this could be called the American tradition – artists demonstrating the courage, the talent to find new harmonies in the rich and dissonant sounds of the American experience.”

Truly well deserved and just last week Stevie was playing with the Jonas brothers and this week he is standing right next to the President, this man is having the time of his life, God Bless.
