Simon Cowell has said he ‘wants to work’ with Paula Abdul again in the future.

The 50-year-old talent show judge recently announced that he is quitting American Idol and will be bringing UK show The X Factor to the States.

Abdul, 47, used to be a judge on Idol but later quit the show and Cowell has said he hopes to work with her again in the future.

He said: “Paula has been talking to me for months. I’ve always made it clear that in some capacity I want to work with Paula again.

“It might be here, it might be in England. I adore Paula.”

Cowell added that fans of X Factor will ‘probably’ find out who will star on the new US show within the next month.

The singer who judged American Idol last year and who apparently had no prospects for further work this time around has been saved by Simon Cowell. It seems Paula Abdul has signed a contract for the American version of Simon Cowell’s popular “talent show”. This is what a source related on the matter: “Simon flew Paula to London and wined and dined her relentlessly over the course of several days, even introducing her to everyone who works on X Factor. But what really clinched the deal was Simon’s pledge that she wouldn’t have to deal with all the nonsense and infighting that she hated on Idol.” Things are looking up for Paula Abdul aren’t they? And to think it was all because of the Earl of Exigency… you could hardly believe it. She’ll probably hardly believe it too, especially after the show starts.

Singer Sinitta has revealed her pal Simon Cowell tried to stop her from competing on the UK show Dancing On Ice.

The 41-year-old has been training hard for the ice-skating show, which starts on Sunday January 10, but said pal Cowell, whom she used to date, thinks that she will make a fool of herself.

She said: “Simon laughed and said: ‘Are you out of your mind?’ He wasn’t very encouraging.

“I thought he would try and stop me doing the show so I didn’t tell him until I had already signed and had been skating for a little bit.

“He said: ‘Have you signed the contract?’ and he offered to help me out of it.”

SPL96172_014Simon Cowell is relaxing on a beach in the Caribbean as X Factor winner Joe McElderry celebrates reaching number one in the UK singles chart.

The music mogul has jetted abroad following a hugely successful year for his shows The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent.

The Britain’s Got Talent final saw 19.2million people tune in, while 19.1 million watched Joe crowned as The X Factor winner for 2009.

Susan Boyle, who was runner-up on BGT, is signed to Simon’s record label Syco and her debut album has reached number one in both the UK and US album charts. The record I Dreamed A Dream has currently sold over four million copies worldwide.

After being kept off the Christmas top spot by Rage Against The Machine, the X Factor winner’s single The Climb has reached number one and sold over 500,000 copies since going on sale.

To top off Simon’s year, he was also named in several “most important/influential men” lists during the year.

This year, Cowell reached his half century and celebrated with a star-studded birthday party thrown by his friend billionaire Sir Phillip Green.

Simon Cowell has revealed The Beatles would never have made it through a gruelling X-Factor audition as a four-piece.

The pop mogul says he would have dropped drummer Ringo Starr before giving Britain’s biggest-ever boy band a pass to boot camp.

He told actress and fellow Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden, who was interviewing him, that only Paul McCartney, John Lennon and George Harrison would have ticked all the boxes.

Speaking from his swanky Beverly Hills mansion, the outspoken X-Factor supremo joked: “No, we would have said, ‘we’ll take those three but probably lose the drummer’.

“Ringo, I’m afraid, we would have said is ‘bad news’.”

Cowell, whose new American Idol deal is reportedly worth a whopping $45 million a year, admitted that he misses former judge Paula Abdul, who quit ahead of the next season.

“Of course I miss her,” he said.

“It’s different but you’ve got to respect people’s decision. I hate saying this but Paula’s a star.

“When she came on the show, she was a star – is a star and will always be a star.

“You’ve got to remember that for all the people queuing up who want to be a star on American Idol, you’ve got to sort of concentrate on them and not think about yourself, which is difficult.”

Cowell also opened up about the controversy surrounding the treatment of worldwide singing phenomenon Susan Boyle, who was last season’s Britain’s Got Talent runner-up.

“It was scary. You’re not thinking at that point or at any time, ‘can she emotionally cope with this?’ It doesn’t cross your mind,” said Cowell, 49.
