Sade still has what it takes to dominate the music industry as the singer and the rest of her band’s first album in a decade ‘Soldier of Love’ is a massive success, topping the charts and selling 502,000 copies in the US and just under 20,000 in Canada. They definitely made a smart move by releasing the album right before Valentine’s Day. I’m pretty sure that there were a lot of couples who were thankful for the mood setting music for some sexy times. Congratulations! It’s a well deserved success. Here’s to hoping they don’t decide to disappear for another decade before coming out with another record.

Sade recently talked to the New York Time on her recent comeback. The singer has been known to come out with a new record and then disappear for a good long while before the next one even materializes. She said “I do want to get on the stage and sing the songs, but then I just want to disappear again.” I say you need to make up your mind. I know that celebrities need that balance of being famous while still living a normal life but disappearing for years on end just doesn’t work for your fans. She needs to be more considerate not only of her needs but for her music too.

Sade hasn’t put an album out since ‘Lovers Rock’ back in 2000 but the soulful singer will soon be releasing a new album of music to make babies to come the New Year. The crooner’s ‘Soldier of Love’ will come out on February 8, 2010. It’s just in time for Valentine’s! Debuting in 1984, all of Sade’s studio albums have landed in the Top 10 of Billboard’s Top 200 Album chart. I’m willing to bet that her new effort ‘Soldier of Love’ will have a similar fate. Welcome back Sade! It’s about time! You don’t know how much I’ve missed you!

According to Billboard, Sade is currently in the studio working on a new album. It has been almost a decade since the singer released an album of new material as her last album ‘Lovers Rock, was released in 2000. All I can say about that is finally! The reclusive soul singer who is known to take lengthy breaks in between releases has regrouped with her band and hopes to release the new album before the end of the year. Fellow Sony recording artist and friend Maxwell has heard some of the new tracks and said “Trust me, it’s so monolithic it’ll shake you in your shoes!”
