Rap and music enthusiasts will soon get a chance to see the lives of Run DMC as a musical. Producer Paula Wagner, who has worked with Tom Cruise in the past on ‘Mission: Impossible’ and other movies, has signed up to turn the hip hop group’s story into a new and original musical. She said “I feel their story lends itself perfectly to the stage. This project has been a passion of mine for some time and I couldn’t be more thrilled to be working with them.” The production will also include the life of Jam Master Jay who was killed back in 2002.

The legends who make up the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame are getting some diversity forced upon them from the group of inductees this year. The newest members include Run DMC, Metallica, the Imperials, soul singer Bobby Womack, guitarist Jeff Beck and doo-wop group Little Anthony. In a recent interview, Darryl ‘DMC’ McDaniels said “I’m a rap dude, I’m an MC from Hollis (a neighborhood in New York’s borough of Queens), just rockin’ the mic, and to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, with the Beatles, and (Bob) Dylan, and the rock ‘n’ roll gods? It’s ridiculous! Ridiculous in a good way.”
