Rick Astley’s MTV Europe Music Award for Best Act Ever has finally been sent to him. The singer was not at the ceremony but did pass on a message to his fans. He said “Please give my thanks to everyone who voted for me, those people I know and the anonymous ones as well.” You would think that it was such a big award that there will be more to his thank you speech. But really, I think all thank you speeches should be like that. I really don’t get the long droning ones that give thanks to everyone including their neighbor’s mother.

The eighties icon, Rick Astley, has been shortlisted for a 2008 MTV Europe Music Award.
Can you believe it?!
This is the first time EVER that Rick’s been nominated for a moon man.
He shares the nomination with names such as Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Tokio Hotel, Green Day, and U2, for this year’s “Best Act Ever” Award.
I’m so excited he’s going to be part of the EMA’s this year!
Imma gonna vote for Rick! Are you?

Rick Astley has risen from whatever grave he was lying in and is back to being a heartthrob in his 40s. The 80s singing sensation dusted off his dancing shoes and performed at some 80s showcase at Powderham castle in Devon, UK alongside Belinda Carlisle and other aging musicians. The good thing for Rick is that the dreamy ‘Together Forever’ singer is still as dreamy as he used to be. I think some people would even prefer this version of Rick. He falls under the category of good things that get better with age. I can’t say that much for other 80s musicians though.

In the world of showbiz you can only find a few artists who age with hotness. 80s pop star Rick Astley happens to be one of them. For those that don’t know about the guy, he’s the one who sings the gem of a classic ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’. If you still don’t know, you now have a chance to find out as he is reportedly going back on tour. Unfortunately for international fans, all his dates are for the UK only. Astley seems to be content with his past success as he has no plans to work on new material after the tour. He spoke to an English paper saying that the chances of him making a new record are slim explaining that he doesn’t have the energy for it.
