The singer recently stated that he believes writing great songs is the closest thing to immortality one can hope to achieve in today’s world. Jon Bon Jovi said: “It’s the closest thing to immortality as we’re ever gonna see here.” And this comes shortly after he and his fellow writer, Richie Sambora, joined the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Well, Jon Bon Jovi does have a point, but it seems to me that Stalin doesn’t have trouble being remembered throughout history and there aren’t any jingles bearing his name that are still being sung today. It makes you wonder about the values our little “civilization” holds dear nowadays.

Bon Jovi’s right-hand man, Richie Sambora, checked himself into rehab on Monday. He went to the same rehab center, Cirque Lodge in Utah, where Lindsay Lohan is currently receiving treatment.

This is the second time in a year that he’s been in rehab. The first was in June, after his divorce from Heather Locklear, breakup with then girlfriend Denise Richards, and the mess of an MTV Unplugged performance. He checked in at the UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles for detox.

After his first stint, Richie told NBC’s Matt Lauer that he was drinking too much and wanted to get his life together. Hopefully, he’ll finally get his act together after this stint.
