Bruce “The Boss” Springsteen has voiced his support for US Presidential hopeful Barack Obama.

In a letter on his website, he says, “Like most of you, I’ve been following the campaign and I have now seen and heard enough to know where I stand. Senator Obama, in my view, is head and shoulders above the rest.”

He says of Obama’s recent comment about small town Americans (where, to paraphrase, he said he understood the hick views that small-town America is so famous for) that it has been twisted out of context to “distract us from discussing the real issues: war and peace, the fight for economic and racial justice, reaffirming our Constitution, and the protection and enhancement of our environment.”

He signs off saying “Over here on E Street, we’re proud to support Obama for President.”

My Mom and Dad love Young’s music. I remember them being nostalgic listening to his songs. I clearly remember their discussions why all this time, Young remained a Canadian citizen, although he has lived in the US for over 40 years and continuous to do so. Americans love Young’s songs, and made him famous and ultra rich. And yet, Young constantly demean the American way of life. Worse, as a Canadian, he dubbed into American Politics. As an American, I will not bad mouth Canadian way of life, nor I have the right to, much less get involve in Canadian politics. I don’t get Young’s contempt in the American way of life. But then again, may be Young is right about Americans - that we are so taken by Bush’ phoniness. May be Young is correct after all, that Americans are so dim witted voting for this drunk twice. Bill Maher thinks so.

Rocker Neil Young blames former U.S. president Bill Clinton for the political situation in America, claiming his lies helped George Bush into power. Liberal-thinking Young traces the decline back to when Clinton denied having an affair with intern Monica Lewinsky in the mid-1990s.Clinton left office w/ $352.70 [B] billion budget surplus. According to Greenspan, present deficit is $8.5 [T]trillion; $10.5 T by the time GWB leaves office. Here’s a break. I computed the time to pay back this deficit - 161,057 years. Explain how GWB squandered the surplus, or, how did we get into the largest deficit? Who will pay this debt? Future Generations - is it fair? Now this is just on of the many statistics that will tell you all that George W. Bush has wrecked this country beyond repair and the fact that he was chosen for a second term was a blunder. Bill Clinton has an affair for which he apologized and then he didn’t play with the country treasury.
