Forget Ozzfest as you know it because the annual summer heavy-metal rock concert is changing things up this year by no longer touring the country and performing nonstop. Instead, they will be making Ozzfest a one-day mega event. It will take place in Dallas at the Pizza Hut Park on Saturday, August 9th with headliners Metallica and Ozzy Osbourne. Manager Sharon Osbourne commented on the change saying “Ozzy just finished an 11-month world tour, so I think he deserves a summer off. We’re going to be a stadium destination festival for now — we have gone past doing the sheds every summer. We’ve given everyone else the blueprint and we have to keep evolving Ozzfest.”

As if the Brit awards of 2008 weren’t going to be eventful enough with the Osbournes hosting it. In fact with the whole family involved one way or another it is bound to be a colourful affair.
But to add to the frivolities Ozzy Osbourne is to fulfil a lifelong dream by performing with his hero Sir Paul McCartney. Aptly for Ozzy they will perform Paul’s classic Bond theme Live and Let Die.
Brit bosses are still thrashing out final details, but if it does come off then it will all be down to Ozzy’s wife Sharon. The X Factor judge has used her influence — and the couple’s gig as awards hosts — to set up the once in a lifetime opportunity for her hubby.
She said: “They go together really well. It will be amazing.”
Well I for one will be tuning in to the show on February 20th for a most memorable evening.

Ozzy Osbourne has gone stir crazy when he found out that a sheriff in North Dakota used his named to stage a sting operation.
Ozzy said that Cass County Sheriff Paul Laney is ‘lazy’ and ‘should be apologizing’ to him after the sheriff promoted a so-called party last week to corral more than 30 people who have outstanding arrest warrants by saying that Ozzy was going to be there. Ozzy released a statement regarding the incident saying “It is insulting to me and to my audience and it shows how lazy this particular sheriff is when it comes to doing his job.”
For his part, Laney says that he didn’t mean for the sting op to be disrespectful to Ozzy.
