And she has been rewarded in full for her loyalty thus far. It seems that Paula Abdul has received Oprah Winfrey’s OK to film her own talk-show with celebrity invites and whatnot. But that’s not all, not only will Paula Abdul have her own talk-show but she will still be participating as a judge on The X Factor along with some of her old friends from American Idol. And nary a few months ago Paula Abdul was facing prospects of unemployment. It seems good things do come to those who pray to Oprah Winfrey and maintain their faith even in the darkest of times.
The shocking story of Mackenzie Phillips’ incestuous relationship with her father has had many people coming forward either in defense or anger towards the actress. One such person in dismay over the allegations is her former stepmother, Genevieve Waite. She released a statement directly to the Oprah Winfrey show after Mackenzie’s interview, denouncing her story. She said “I am stunned by Mackenzie’s terrible allegations about her father. I would often complain about her overly familiar attitudes towards him, and he said it was just her way. John was a good man. … He was incapable, no matter how drunk or drugged he was, to have sexual relations with his own child.” Since Mamas and the Papas singer, John Phillips, isn’t alive to defend himself, there is no real way of knowing if Mackenzie is telling the truth.
During Oprah’s interview with Whitney Houston, the talk show host had some questions for the singer’s 15-year old daughter Bobbi Kristina. The diva’s little girl was asked whether she had plans on having her own singing career and following her mother’s footsteps, to which she replied “Yeah. I know she hates it, but it’s the plan. It’s my plan. Mine. Yeah.” Bobbi Kristina also talked about her relationship with Whitney saying “I’ve been there with her through everything and the whole divorce and talking and whatever, but you know, I stay by her side. That’s like my best friend you know, that’s like my sister.”
