Unfortunately, this is not about an epic battle to the death between the two bands, but a drink-off. The idea came from the recently reformed band who believe they can take on the guys from Oasis any day. John Keeble, Spandau Ballet’s drummer said: “We can take on Oasis. They are nice boys, pussycats. We’re real rock ‘n’ roll.” In the words of some many black dancers before us: it’s on! I can’t wait to see what the guys from Oasis will have to say about this one. Maybe there will actually be a contest like this… and most certainly it will be broadcasted live.

The “Oasis” rocker recently got kicked out of a taxi in Japan while on tour with the band. Noel Gallagher relates the incident: “Got thrown out of a taxi this morning. At least I think I did. Hard to tell over here. There was shouting and pointing and then the international hand signal for ‘Get the fuck out of my cab, you western dog!’” Maybe the cab driver actually tried to compliment Noel Gallagher. After all, “western dog” might be a sign of great respect. But, no wait, those were actually Noel Gallagher’s words so in the end he was probably just complimenting himself.

There are a lot of people who react negatively when the name ‘Liam Gallagher’ is mentioned; mainly due to his poor reputation as music’s’ Bad Lad. I admit to not being a huge fan myself, but after today’s news he does get my respect.
The bad lad turns out to be not a bad Dad. The Oasis frontman has two sons; eight-year-old Lennon and six-year-old Gene; and is said to regularly drop into their school to give music lessons. A school source said, “”Liam’s spending loads of time in the school. He does the school run in the morning and often pops in and teaches the kids some music skills.
A lot of the children are a bit too young to understand who he is. He’s just another dad to most of them – they don’t know how lucky they are.”
Good for Liam. So many celebrities have hired nannies and such to help look after their children it is so nice to see one getting his hands dirty and joining in.
