I’m not sure what was going on in Jermaine Jackson’s head when he announced the line up for the Vienna, Austria tribute concert for his brother, the late King of Pop Michael Jackson. Jermaine said that Chris Brown, Mary J. Blige, Natalie Cole and a whole load of others were going to be performing. The first two earlier released a statement that they weren’t going to be there. And now, Natalie Cole is also saying that she won’t be there. The singer’s rep says that she definitely won’t be at the show because Natalie is already scheduled to attend an event with the Dalai Lama in Memphis around the same time the tribute concert is set to go down.

Natalie Cole recently underwent a kidney transplant due to her Hepatitis C. The singer now feels pretty good with her new kidney and her tour has been rescheduled to start up again in the fall. Natalie sent a message out to her fans thanking them for her support saying “My family and I want to express our extreme appreciation for the outpouring of kindness we have received from all over the country. In the midst of sorrow I am still able to celebrate my new lease on life. There is always a silver lining. I thank God for this golden kidney and I look forward to going back to work in the fall. I will see you in the music.”

While singer Natalie Cole was undergoing a kidney transplant surgery last week, her older sister Cookie passed away. It seemed that tragedy may have been unavoidable for their family. Apparently, Cookie had not been to the doctor in 30 years. Upon her recent visit, a cancerous spot was found on her lung. While doctors wanted to treat her immediately with chemotherapy, Cookie made the decision to not seek any treatment. Natalie was at Cookie’s bedside when the singer received a phone call from her doctors with a kidney ready to transplant, directing her to get to the hospital immediately to undergo surgery. Natalie initially refused to go but younger sister Timolin convinced her to go saying “Cookie would want this for you.”

Singer Natalie Cole is up for a kidney transplant and her 31-year old son Robert is a possible donor if it is medically possible. Cole is
hopeful that a kidney dialysis could put an end to her thrice a week dialysis. The 58-year old Cole may be undergoing regular dialysis
but this has not stopped her from working. She has in fact toured all over the world in the past six months while struggling with her
health problems. She has been diagnosed with hepatitis C a year ago but has tested negative for the virus. However, she has been
battling both kidney and liver problems at the same time.
Cole has not allowed her illness to deter her from her music career. She has been nominated for three Grammy Awards for her “Still
Unforgettable” album released in 2008. However, if her kidney transplant pushes through she does not have a choice but to take time
out to recover. While recovery time does not excite her, Cole said it will be worth it if makes her well again. She admitted she has
never been faced with anything like this but she would not let anything bring her down because she loves when she has to do so
much.

Ailing singer Natalie Cole has received much needed support from her own sister who has offered to donated her own kidney to save Natalie life. Cole who is aged 58 had been diagnosed with hepatitis c in 2008 and has even since been battling ill health since.
Natalie had undergone treatment previously but in September doctors told her that she would need a kidney transplant. Thereafter she appealed to her family members not to donate but yet her sister Timolin took test and it was found that her kidney was a match.
Isn’t that wonderful, Natalie would be so happy that one of her own family members is saving her life and she would then be able to lead a better life once the transplant is successful.
My 5 month old grand daughter was a donor after her sudden death in 2007….she is our angel and a hero to families whose children are alive because of her.
