The company that sells all things related to Michael Jackson, The Rolling Stones, The Doors, Guns N Roses, Led Zeppelin and Red Hot Chili Peppers is demanding millions from the businesses that are allegedly illegally raking in the cash. Bravado International Groups claims that it has the exclusive right to the merchandise of these music icons. They say that Dollar Days International, Alan Shrem and Kennedy-Shrem International are illegally using the names and likenesses of Michael, Jim Morrison and other musicians in the sale of shirts, watches, posters, play money and other things. Bravado wants $2 million for each violation.

Michael Jackson’s former manager recently filed a huge creditor’s claim against the King of Pop’s estate and it’s mostly over the sale of Neverland Ranch in 2008. In the documents which were filed in LA County Superior Court, Dr. Tohme claims that he was promised a certain fee from the late singer if he could locate a company to save the property from foreclosure last year. He says that he was the one who brought Colony Capital LLC to the table and that he wants his cut of the deal which he says is about $2.3 million. How many more claims do we have to hear about?

Joe Jackson wants a monthly allowance from Michael Jackson’s estate to cover his extravagant $15,000 a month lifestyle. The King of Pop’s father spends $1200 a month for rent, $2500 to eat out, $1000 on entertainment, gifts and vacations, $2000 on air travel and $3000 on hotels. The late singer’ will only provided for allowances to his mother Katherine Jackson and his three kids so I doubt Joe will be getting any. And considering that his only source of income is his $1700 social security check, maybe he should just learn to cut back on the expenses. A judge has already rejected his petition.

It’s hard to believe that it’s only been 4 months since Michael Jackson’s death. It’s harder to believe that in that time, he has become the third top grossing dead celebrity this year. The King of Pop beat out the likes of Elvis Presley and John Lennon as Forbes has clocked the late singer as having earned $90 million posthumously. Most of the earnings are due to the countless merchandising deals and the rights to the use of his name and likeness in the film ‘This is It’. Michael also made millions from album sales, radio airplay and music video marathons from the weeks after his death. He was only beat out by fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent and Broadway buffs Richard Rogers and Oscar Hammerstein, whose earnings were combined.

Michael Jackson

Elizabeth Taylor gave a standing ovation after viewing an advance screening of Michael Jackson’s concert documentary This Is It, according to US reports.

The legendary actress – fresh out of hospital after heart surgery – became one of the first people to see the film earlier this week.

Taylor, 77, who was the king of pop’s longtime friend and confidante, watched the movie at the MGM studio in LA along with her partner Jason Winters, son Christopher Wilding and Miko Brando – Marlon Brando’s son and Jacko’s former assistant.

A mole at the screening said: “Dame Elizabeth was overheard saying: ‘The film was pure genius and the most magnificent film’.”

This Is It opens on 18,000 screens worldwide on October 28.

It’s possible that some of you may think that Michael Jackson’s new song sound familiar, and if that is the case, Paula Anka is here to give you the reason why. The singer is saying that the King of Pop’s ‘This is It’ is a rip off of a song that he wrote for Michael back in 1983. Michael had originally turned down the song so Paul gave it to another artist named Safire. But before all that, Paul had recorded demos with Michael singing the song titled ‘I Never Heard’. After the demos were made, Michael dropped the song but he kept the demos. Paul was never successful in going through the legal process to get them back and he is now claiming that ‘This is It’ is using samples from those tapes.

It would seem that no one in Michael Jackson’s life is exempt from attempting to garner a little attention through their association with him. Even his spiritual leaders are cashing in. Rabbi Shmuley Boteach looked after the late singer’s spiritual guidance before they had a falling out. The Rabbi has come forward with recorded conversations between himself and the King of Pop. One of the conversations they had included Michael’s struggle with his ex-wife Lisa Marie Presley. Michael said “I wanted children and she didn’t…She promised me before we married that the first thing we would do was have children. I was brokenhearted…I walked around all the time holding these little baby dolls, and I’d be crying. That’s how badly I wanted it, you know … I was determined to have children.”

Michael Jackson’s estate has recently filed a lawsuit against the Heal the World Foundation. Special Administrators John Branca and John McClain have alleged in the suit that the foundation is using the late singer’s name and likeness without permission. According to documents, the foundation and other related entities have registered 6 trademarks and have applied for 41 additional ones, all suggesting a connection to the King of Pop. The legal papers do acknowledge that Michael founded his own Heal the World Foundation back in 1992 but it has no connection to the defendants. The suit also claims that the defendants cyber-squatted several domain names, all revolving around Michael.

Introducing Orianthi, the guitar phenomenon who is featured prominently in the upcoming Michael Jackson concert documentary, This Is It. Already a renowned musician, Orianthi has been playing guitar since the age of eleven and was discovered by legend Carlos Santana. After playing with artists like Carrie Underwood, ZZ Top, and Prince, she received a MySpace message from Michael Jackson’s musical director asking her to audition for his comeback tour. Following a test run with the King of Pop himself, she was selected as his lead guitarist for his O2 arena dates in London – a crowning acheivement for the 24 year old from Adelaide, Australia.

Now Orianthi is preparing to release her solo debut album, Believe, on October 27th. In addition to her talent at guitar, Orianthi has a gorgeous voice and even sang at Michael Jackson’s Staples Center memorial service. Even before starting rehearsals for his tour though, she was hard at work writing and recording the album with her band. Believe is full of anthemic rock tracks with a sound reminiscent of Paramore or Evanescence, but entirely Orianthi thanks to her signature shreds and thunderous hooks. Her first single, “According to You” is a catchy tale of an ungrateful boyfriend, featuring a killer guitar solo.

To hear the story in her own words, watch Orianthi in this segment from Australia’s Today show. Visit Orianthi.com for updates on this rising star, and be sure to check her out in This Is It out on October 28th.
