After 18 long years with Geffen Records, it seems Rob Zombie has finally decided to pack his stuff and move to Roadrunner Records. The reason… well, an honest one, truth be told: they just didn’t give Rob Zombie enough time to promote his new record. This is what the singer said about the move: “It certainly wasn’t an easy decision to make after all this time, but it had to be done. I love this new record and wanted to surround myself with an excited new group of people who can reignite my enthusiasm for working within a hard rock record label. Roadrunner seems to be the perfect place.” Right… well, the boys at Roadrunner will probably make sure that Rob Zombie gets all the bang for his buck that he needs. Let the sellout commence!

Iconic rock band Kiss got the kiss off from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and they are none too pleased about it. The band released their first album in 1974 and easily fulfill the requirement of 25 years since an artist’s debut for nomination. However, the rockers are nowhere to be seen on the ballot. Gene Simmons said “There are disco bands, rap bands, Yiddish folk song bands in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but not Kiss. I believe we have more gold records in America than any other group, but it’s OK.” I don’t think he’s going to help their campaign any though as Gene has made a jab at the Hall of Fame’s top officials saying “A lot of those guys on the board can go and get my sandwich when I want, and I mean that in the nicest way.”

Poison is set to hit the road this summer, but prior to that they’re getting the band back together to sue their record label.

According to a lawsuit filed today in L.A. Superior Court, the band claims Capitol Records conned them, underpaying them royalties for years.

They also claim they were shortchanged by EMI Music Marketing over a deal they made in 2005 for their greatest hits album, which featured a new track entitled “We’re An American Band.”

Rumors flew that Eddie Van Halen wasn’t feeling so well. This came after his band Van Halen cancelled a sold out North American tour and said he was “undergoing a battery of comprehensive medical tests.”

At the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards on Saturday, his son Wolfgang assured fans that he’s doing fine. He said, “Don’t listen to the rumors – he’s doing great – seriously!”

Eddie’s ex Valerie Bertinelli says he hasn’t entered rehab, although he has previously battled substance abuse and dealt with mouth cancer. Wolfgang says they are picking up the tour in mid-April and have added a show in Reno on April 17th.

Remember Rikki Rocket? Yeah, me neither. He was the drummer for Poison. Now, he runs around doing duet performances with his fiancee Melanie Martel. Her, I know. She was a hot singer in Nashville back at the Fiddle and Steel.

Anywho, seems Rikki has been arrested on rape charges, stemming from an incident that occurred in September. It happened in Neshoba County, Mississippi. Seems he was arrested at LAX airport as he returned from New Zealand but was released as of now.

No word on the next step for police.

Contrary to previous reports, Van Halen’s current tour is on as, much like most of their members, it’s been brought back from the dead. The group initially canceled remaining tour dates and hotel reservations through April 19. The company behind the tour, Live Nation, says that Eddie Van Halen is undergoing a battery of medical tests to determine a defined diagnosis and recommended medical procedure. Let’s hope that it has nothing to do with any alcohol abuse. Eddie had a stint in rehab last year for alcohol-related issues. Now, they are saying that the canceled dates have been rescheduled starting April 24.

Van Halen Tour Canceled

It has been reported that the Van Halen tour has been canceled. Sources are saying that arrangements are still being made right now to cancel hotel stays for the tour which was set to continue on through April 19th. Sources are also saying that the reason for the tour’s cancellation is because Eddie is having “issues”. The last 3 shows had already been canceled. Of the shows that did go on, reports have come out that Eddie seemed out of it during performances and videos of recent performances even show his guitar playing being atrocious. They definitely have some issues alright.

Kiss star Gene Simmons insists the legendary rockers will never make another record because music is a dying industry. The band will embark on an extensive European tour later this year but the Crazy Nights hit makers have not released an album since Psycho Circus in 1998.

And Simmons is convinced they won’t be rushing back to the recording studio, as there is simply no money to make in selling LPs any more. He says, “There’s no new Kiss material because there’s no record industry. Any band that tries to do new material is trying to climb a slippery mountain. Every day record companies are folding. It’d be nice to have new Kiss songs, but what’s the business model? Do you just put songs on the Internet for free? Then what?”

Rob Zombie

If you think of dogs and their celebrity owners, you’d think that there would be similarities in physical attributes and personality. For example, there’s Paris Hilton and a little froufrou pup of a teacup Chihuahua. If you think of heavy metal rocker/director Rob Zombie, you would think he has a badass, giant Rottweiler. However, that’s not the case.

Rob Zombie was spotted walking around with a froufrou pup. You would think that he wouldn’t dare to go out and be seen with that thing in fear of tainting his reputation. But this is Rob Zombie we’re talking about. He doesn’t care what we think. And he showed us just that.

Megadeth Parasite Scare

When you are a famous band out travelling the world you expect to pick up some experiences and memories. But the last thing Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine expected to bring back from the road with him was worms.

No not the earthworm variety. Parasites. More accurately 51 types of parasite all over his body. He couldn’t believe it.

He blames staying in less-than clean hotel rooms and other hazards on tour. As well as being outgoing and affectionate towards fans – giving them hugs despite the many germs they may carry.

Oh the downfalls of being famous…
