Back in 2004, Liza Minnelli’s former chauffeur M’Hammed Soumayah filed a lawsuit against the singer/actress for sexual harassment and asking for $100 million. He claimed that years back when Liza was drunk, she would beat him and demand to have sex. According to M’Hammed, Liza even went as far as to threaten to fire him from his job, so the married father of two eventually relented to stay employed. She must have been offering a lot of money. After a long legal battle, a deal was reached between both parties last month and is now finalized. There’s no word on how much money Liza had to pay out.

Liza Minnelli went on the CBS Early Show this past Friday to talk about her good friend, the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson. And it seems that she knows something about the late singer that is bound to make headlines, and not the good kind. Liza said “All those who knew him well really know what he was like, and I’m sure that now the accolades are going and I’m sure when the autopsy comes, all hell’s going to break loose. So thank God we’re celebrating him now.” I wonder what she means by that. It obviously has something to do with the autopsy and perhaps drugs.

Liza Minnelli has let it be known she didn’t know her late former husband Peter Allen was gay.

Minnelli , who is to tour Australia in October, told an interviewer: “No, of course I didn’t know. I don’t think he knew either … and when he did [accept his sexuality] of course he told me and of course I said ‘I understand’. But it was hard.”

The showbiz couple wed in 1967 and divorced almost a decade later, after the Australian-born singer-songwriter had come out as gay. He died in 1992.

Minnelli has been seen in the Australian media as “sticking the boot” into Allen’s autobiographical musical The Boy from Oz, which ran on Broadway,

Speaking to an Australian gay magazine, she suggested that the show, starring Hugh Jackman, was not true to Allen.

“I had no need to see it, I lived it,” she said. “I was there the first time. And nobody asked me anything about it; nobody could ask Peter anything. It was absolutely done without input from the people who were there.”

Minnelli was reported on Australian TV as planning to break two of her golden rules on the Australian tour – talking about her personal life and performing the songs of her legendary mother, Judy Garland.

Liza Minnelli Back on Track

It has just been a few weeks since she collapsed during a concert in Sweden but Liza Minnelli is set to resume working again. The legendary singer who has been plagued by the demon of addiction is set to start rehearsals again this week. Her first show back on stage is scheduled for January 12th in Providence, Rhode Island.

Liza’s lawyer commented about her return saying for the fans to not worry. We can only hope that all will be well. Just go in with little expectations or just expect her to pass out again. That way, you won’t be disappointed by what you get out of the show.

Liza Minnelli

And to think I was actually worried for her when I first heard the news. Liza Minnelli passed out on stage during one of her concerts last week. And now, the Swedish media is reporting just what caused the shocker. And the cause really steals the thunder from her passing out.

The entertainer was said to be drunk and on painkillers when she passed out. It just goes to show that you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. Considering who her mother is and how she died, you would think that Liza knew better. But then again, it’s Liza Minnelli we’re talking about. Enough said.
