It is being rumored that legendary 1960s British rock band, The Who, will be taking the stage at this year’s Super Bowl halftime show. If that does go down, the event will mark the band’s first live performance in the United States in two years. It’s a good choice but I kind of miss the years when they paraded out Britney Spears to sing with Aerosmith and when Justin Timberlake got shamed for undressing Janet Jackson. Don’t get me wrong though, I love The Who. However, this whole G-rated thing doesn’t really peak my interest and I doubt anything newsworthy will happen at the event.

Chris Kirkpartrick recently let it become known that an NSYNC reunion could be on the horizon. The singer said “You never know what the future holds. Anything could happen. We’re all just being ourselves for a little while. I think when the stars are aligned, the time is right, and all five of us have our heads on straight and know the direction we’re going as a band, it’ll eventually happen. If not, I know we’ll be best friends forever.” Why he thinks that Justin Timberlake would be stupid to get back together with his former band mates is beyond me. But then again, he has been making a lot of questionable career choices with not making any new music lately.

Ticketless fans have been warned to stay away from Michael Jackson’s star-studded memorial service amid fears of riots.

Los Angeles police have urged people not to head to the Staples Center in the city’s downtown area for tomorrow’s event unless they are guaranteed entry.

Authorities fear that up to one million fans will descend on the city.

More than 1.6 million people entered a lottery to get tickets, but only 17,500 were successful.

Some tickets were being offered for sale on eBay for as much as $20,000 today.

British Airways said it had a “huge influx” of reservations over the past few days from British people hoping to make their way to the event – at an arena that can accommodate only 20,000.

Local police have been building barriers around the Staples Center.

Los Angeles Police Department Assistant Chief Jim McDonnell said: “Anybody who does not hold proper credentials, tickets to get in to the event, will not be allowed inside the security zone.”

Among the celebrities expected to pay tribute to the so-called King of Pop at the event include Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder, Justin Timberlake, Mariah Carey and Jennifer Hudson.

Longtime Jacko pal Elizabeth Taylor will reportedly read the eulogy, while other guests may include Whitney Houston, Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Lionel Richie, Liza Minnelli and Aretha Franklin.

Before the tribute, there will be a private ceremony for family at Forest Lawn cemetery.

On Monday, the Supreme Court ordered a federal appeals court to re-examine its ruling, in favour of CBS over the whole wardrobe malfunction incident from back in 2004 during Super Bowl with Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake. Who knew that a nipple could cause years in court battles? Last year, the decision was put up to the Supreme Court but they’ve just directed it to the Circuit Court of Appeals in Philadelphia in order to consider reinstating the $550,000 fine that the FCC had placed. According to a statement made by a CBS rep, the network is not surprised by the decision and believes that they won’t be found at fault for the incident since they “could not have been anticipated” the nipple slip.

Grammy nominee Drew Lachey, best known for his work as part of the boy band 98 Degrees and ‘Dancing with the Stars’ champion, sings and dances in his first performance as Patsy, King Arthur’s trusted manservant in the Broadway musical ‘Monty Python’s Smapalot’ at the Shubert Theatre in New York City on Tuesday. King Arthur’s role was assumed by Emmy nominee Stephen Collins of ‘Seventh Heaven’ fame. To celebrate his successful debut, Drew, Stephen and the rest of the cast went to Justin Timberlake’s restaurant Southern Hospitality. Nick should follow in his brother’s footsteps and get some work instead of just hanging around with Vanessa Minnillo.

Madonna has revealed she and Justin Timberlake drank tequila and vodka after her New York show.

The ‘4 Minutes’ singer – who stunned crowds at the free Manhattan concert when she welcomed Justin on stage – revealed she was feeling slightly hung-over after partying on Wednesday night.

She said: “We had to celebrate. We decided we both work too hard and have to have fun. I had a shot of tequila. I may have had a lemon drop, too! We ‘tied one on’, as they say.”

The 49-year-old singer and her 27-year-old collaborator went to New York’s exclusive nightclub The Box where they danced and drank with friends including Josh Duhamel, fashion designer Alexander McQueen and R.E.M frontman Michael Stipe.

Madonna also revealed she thinks Justin is the perfect pop star, adding: “He’s ambitious but not in an offensive way. He’s incredibly responsible and he’s good at what he does and I think he has a long future in front of him. He understands the insanity of being a pop star.”

Meanwhile, mother-of-three Madonna said despite leaving her “brat” side behind her, she still likes displaying her “cheeky side” in her music. She told US TV show ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “I think I’m many things. I think I’m a lady, I think I’m a brat, I think I’m a nerd, I think I’m a pimp, I think I’m a mother, I think I’m a kid. I can’t be a brat forever! But that was fun, it was fun being a brat. I’ve still got my cheeky side.”

With the boy band that spawned all boy bands rumored to be reuniting, other former boy band members just started popping out all over the place and Villa was deemed boy band central earlier this week. JC and Lance from NSYNC and the Lachey brothers from 98° were all present at the club in celebration of another former member of NSYNC and ‘Dancing with the Stars’ alum Joey Fatone. It was his 31st birthday.

What?! No Justin Timberlake? Come on! The Backstreet Boys are back. NKOTB is about to come back. Bring all the boy bands back in and start a man band rivalry!

They’re getting more and more public by the minute as Jessica Biel took some time to nurse her boyfriend Justin Timberlake back to health. She accompanied the ‘SexyBack’ singer to a hospital in Beverly Hills on Wednesday and both seemed to be in good spirits.

Justin has a check up with the doc as he apparently strained his voice as the result of his Sunday performance at MTV’s Video Music Awards. Add months of touring to that, and you’ve got some tired vocal chords. Justin has since canceled two of his concerts because the doctor has ordered the singer to rest his voice for several days.

His tour promoter, AEG Live, has reschedules the shows for September 23 and 25 for San Jose and Sacramento, respectively.
