Jennifer Lopez tried her hand at late night TV when she took over the hosting duties on Lopez Tonight’s episode this past Monday. The 40-year old singer/actress took over the job from host George Lopez for the day and poked fun at NBC’s late night problems in her monologue. George said “Wasn’t she amazing? Orale, Jennifer Lopez! I guess that’s what it feels like to be Conan.” He better hope that his comments didn’t put an idea into JLo’s head because she just might take over him permanently if she ended up really wanting to host. There will be no problem with having to change the name of the show too.
Elizabeth Taylor’s White Diamonds fragrance is the best-selling celebrity perfume of all time, according to a research company.
The fragrance recorded US sales of $67 million in 2008, followed by Unforgivable, a scent endorsed by Sean Diddy Combs, which racked up $48.5 million.
White Diamonds, which carries the unmistakable Taylor cache, was first released in 1991 by Elizabeth Arden. At the time Taylor said she “wanted every woman to be able to experience the joy and thrills that diamonds and extraordinary gems bring to [her]“.
Other money-making perfumes include Sarah Jessica Parker’s Lovely, Derek Jeter’s Driven and Glo by Jennifer Lopez. Celine Dion’s same-name perfume ranked third at $26.4 million.
The Chicago-based Euromonitor International list ran as follows: 1. Elizabeth Taylor – White Diamonds ($67.2m); 2. Sean Diddy Combs – Unforgivable ($48.5m); 3. Celine Dion ($26.4m); 4. Sarah Jessica Parker – Lovely ($25.7m); 5. Derek Jeter – Driven ($24.1m); 6. Antonio Banderas – Diavolo ($18.8m); 7. J.Lo – Glo ($18.5m); 8. Britney Spears – Curious ($14.3m); 9. Britney Spears – Fantasy ($10.1 million).
Pregnant Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony are set to receive a record $6 million for the first pictures of their twins.
The ‘Do It Well’ singer – who is rumoured to be due on February 23 – has reportedly secured the highest price ever paid for celebrity baby photos following a deal with People magazine. The staggering sum will be shared with OK! magazine, who will print the pictures in their 15 international editions.
A spokesperson for the OK! magazine said: “It is fantastic for these international markets, and especially important with the immense strength the exclusive will bring to the new launch of OK! Spain.”
Christina Aguilera is said to have received $1.5 million for posing with newborn son Max Liron Bratman on the cover of People magazine, while Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie received $4 million for pictures of their biological daughter Shiloh.
