James McCartney, son of ex-Beatle Sir Paul, is playing to acclaim in the UK and has reportedly been swamped with recording offers.
The 32-year-old, whose mother is the late Linda, has just wound up recording for his debut album, which was produced by his collaborator David Kahn.
A source said: “James is really happy with the album and is enjoying playing live. All he’s got to worry about is who he’s going to sign with.”
The paper claims James is fielding offers from Universal, EMI, Warner and Sony as well as smaller, independent labels. All are clamouring to sign the rocker, whose diverse influences are cited as those of Nirvana and Fleetwood Mac.
The Liverpool Daily Post last week reports McCartney appeared as a “younger, blonder version of his old man with a blue guitar slung around his neck”.
James dedicated a song, titled My Friend, to George Harrison and paid homage to his father with a performance of I Love You, Dad.
The official newspaper of the Vatican in Italy, L’Osservatore Romano, has listed its official top ten albums of all time and the results were quite the opposite of what you may have expected. I’ll admit to being very surprised by the choices. The Beatles’ ‘Revolver’ took the top spot. Others that made the list include Pink Floyd’s ‘The Dark Side of the Moon’, Oasis’ ‘(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?’, Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’, U2’s ‘Achtung Baby’, Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Rumours’, Donald Fagen’s ‘The Nightfly’, Carlos Santana’s ‘Supernatural’, Paul Simon’s ‘Graceland’, and David Crosby’s ‘If I Could Only Remember My Name’. Those are definitely some surprising choices.
A lot of celebrities came out to see Fleetwood Mac in concert in Los Angeles recently. Who wouldn’t want to see the legendary Stevie Nicks perform with her iconic band? It seemed that everyone from actors to singers to socialites were there to show their support for the rock group. Some of the celebrities spotted at the show included Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Ashley Olsen and her boyfriend, Nicole Richie, Natalie Maines, Mischa Barton, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Eliza Dushku, Rick Fox, Michelle Branch, George Lopez, Alan Thicke and Tom Petty. Talk about a star studded bash! I wish I was there.
The iconic singer known as Stevie Nicks is going out on tour with Fleetwood Mac early next year. There are currently sixteen dates that have been initially announced. Of course, if there’s high demand for them, more dates will be added. The one-month tour will kick off on March 1st in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at the Mellon Arena and will wrap up on March 26th in Toronto, Ontario, Canada at the Air Canada Centre. That’s going to be one busy traveling schedule because they will be going all over North America for those sixteen dates. If you do the math, they will be having a show every other day with the days in between being travel days.
