It has been reported that the former drummer for Guns N Roses, Steven Adler, was arrested early Friday morning in Hollywood for possession of narcotics, being under the influence and for an outstanding warrant. Earlier this month, the 43-year old rocker actually told a radio station that he was planning on being part of the cast of ‘Sober Living’, a spin-off of VH1’s ‘Celebrity Rehab’. I guess his timing couldn’t be any better. Casting directors should see him as a perfect candidate for their reality show with this recent arrest. What is with the endless list of reality TV shows hiring has-beens lately?

Steven Tyler has checked into rehab.

The Aerosmith frontman – who claims to have been sober for 20 years since cleaning up his act in rehab in the mid-80s – is being treated at Las Encinas Hospital’s drug rehabilitation clinic in Pasadena, California, for ’substance abuse’.

Steven, 60, previously credited his film star daughter Liv, 30, and his Aerosmith bandmates for helping him recover from his previous alcohol and drug addictions.

He previously said: “Four rehabilitation centres for drug abuse later, I’ve been able to take a long, hard look at my behaviour.”

Steven and bandmate Joe Perry – whose hits include ‘Love in an Elevator’ and ‘I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing’ - were nicknamed the ‘Toxic Twins’ in the 80s.

He is currently dating Erin Brady – who has a penchant for the rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle and was once thrown out of a casino hotel for brawling. The clinic at Las Encinas Hospital has been made famous by hit US TV show ‘Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew’.

Amazing video footage of John Lennon smoking pot, writing songs and discussing putting the hallucinogenic drug LSD in President Richard Nixon’s tea will be at the centre of a dramatic court case to start next week.

In a bid to keep the tape private Yoko is set to go against Lawrence, Massachusetts-based World Wide Video, which claims ownership of nine hours of raw footage of the former Beatle and Ono filmed only weeks before the legendry band parted in 1970.

World Wide, a consortium of Beatles collectors, are looking to release the historical footage as a 2 hour film “3 days in the life” detailing the break-up and mind set of Lennon at this crucial time.

Rolling Stone magazine dubs it “the most awesome John Lennon footage you might never see.”

Having paid $1 million for the tapes after legal costs and other expenses, it was almost premiered last year but the showing was pulled after Yoko’s lawyers asserted her copyright ownership of the videotapes.

The story looks to be a film in itself with legal parties get ready to fight.

The tapes in question were filmed between 8 to 11 February 1970, and show Lennon composing two hits, “Remember” and “Mind Games,” whilst openly discussing his drug use in scenes that World Wide describe as “intimate and no-holds-barred.”

Universal records has given Amy Winehouse an ultimatum – either she quit the drugs or else she will not have her new record released. No record release means no money for drugs. The label made a similar threat earlier this year to get Wino into rehab after pictures and a video of her smoking crack surfaced. An insider says that Universal have stepped up again saying “Amy has been reminded of her responsibilities. Unless she is clean she will not be allowed to release another album.” Let’s hope this ultimatum will shake Amy straight though I’m not betting on it especially if Blake gets out of prison early.

Rapper Paperboy, whose real name is Mitchell Charles Johnson, was busted in Merced, California after the police found a small amount of pot and a prescription bottle not in his name after a traffic stop. Johnson was booked on misdemeanor charges of marijuana possession and transportation, illegal possession of prescriptions medication and driving on a suspended license. He has since been released after paying a $10,000 bail. If you don’t know about who exactly Paperboy is, well… I can’t tell you either. Oh wait, here’s something I remember – “Do the ditty if you want to … because then I can see if I want you.”

Contrary to previous reports, Van Halen’s current tour is on as, much like most of their members, it’s been brought back from the dead. The group initially canceled remaining tour dates and hotel reservations through April 19. The company behind the tour, Live Nation, says that Eddie Van Halen is undergoing a battery of medical tests to determine a defined diagnosis and recommended medical procedure. Let’s hope that it has nothing to do with any alcohol abuse. Eddie had a stint in rehab last year for alcohol-related issues. Now, they are saying that the canceled dates have been rescheduled starting April 24.

Bobby Brown’s Coke Rap

Bobby Brown showed up in a Brockton, Massachusetts District Court on Tuesday to answer possible drug charges. The hearing was held behind close doors but no decision has been made yet. The clerk of criminal court says that “it was taken under advisement” meaning that both sides are still being weighed and that it could take a few days before any decision on whether to charge the former R&B star or not.

Bobby was arrested last year when cops were called to a hotel for a report of a disturbance when they found drugs on him. Bobby actually asked the trooper if he would “use discretion” and not charge him.

Keith Richards warns Amy Winehouse

Keith Richards has warned Amy Winehouse to stay away from drugs.

The Rolling Stones rocker - who has previously battled a heroin addiction - says the troubled ‘Rehab’ singer needs to kick her dangerous habit before it ’s too late. The 64-year-old guitarist, who once infamously joked he had snorted his father’s ashes, said: “She should get her act together.”

The band’s frontman Mick Jagger, who was briefly jailed in 1967 for possessing drugs, has also advised young stars not to follow in the Stones’ notorious footsteps.

Speaking at the Berlin premiere of Rolling Stones documentary ‘Shine a Light ‘, Mick said: “When we were experimenting with drugs, little was known about the effects. In our time there were no rehab centres. Anyway I did not know about them.”

Mick, 64, has previously expressed concern for Amy’s wellbeing saying: “I’m worried she might die if she goes down the road she has taken.”

He’s not the only one…

Ike Turner’s Death

The autopsy results are in and it has been determined that music legend Ike Turner died of an accidental cocaine overdose as revealed by the San Diego County Coroner. How do you accidentally die of an overdose when you know it’s bad for you?

Chief Investigator at the Medical Examiner’s Office Paul Parker said that “We are listing that he abused cocaine, and that’s what resulted in the cocaine toxicity.” Ike’s daughter Mia told the AP that her father’s drug use was “an ongoing struggle.” It was such a big struggle that it ultimately led to the music legend’s death on December 12 at his rented San Marcos home.

Britney

It’s pretty much established in the minds of the masses that Britney Spears is mentally unstable. Sources are now saying that the “responsible” people in Britney’s life, if there are any that actually exist, are trying to convince her to voluntarily enter a mental hospital. That would be a huge benefit to society.

It seems that there is now a consensus that she’ll never get custody of her kids unless she undergoes intensive, in-patient treatment for what appears to be severe bipolar disorder. But it’s being said that the pop wreck is resisting and does not want to enter a hospital.
