The highly experienced and wise country singer is apparently not too happy with what the youngsters seem to be doing with the genre these days. George Jones doesn’t seem to be to impressed with Taylor Swift or Carrie Underwood whom he recently accused of stealing the identity of country music and whoring it into the mainstream. One can see his point, but George Jones seems to be fighting a losing battle. But then again, he’s an artist and Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood are… well, one is a hit factory and the other an American Idol winner. But you keep on fighting the good fight, sir! Maybe one day…

Big girl country star Wynnona Judd has recently signed on to be the new spokeswoman for the diet pill Alli. In a statement Wynnona said with Alli “I hope that I can inspire people to be better [and] that they can see themselves in me and say, ‘If she can do it, I can do it.’” See! It’s not just the emaciated starlets who have all the jobs being spokespeople. However, do take note – the possible side effects of taking the diet pill includes incontinence. Do you want to have to poop very often to support your effort of slimming down?

A man in Orange County is claiming he’s the late country legend Eddy Arnold’s illegitimate son and wants the singer’s body exhumed for a DNA test to prove it. Arnold, the crooner who brought us ‘You Don’t Know Me’ and ‘I Want to Go with You’, died last May 8 but Christopher Edward Tanner just recently filed a petition in Davidson County, Tennessee to have DNA testing done on Arnold’s remains. The late singer’s lawyer says that his client has always denied having fathered Tanner. And if you wanted to know, Tanner is already 47 years old. Why did he have to wait so long to file a petition?

The house Johnny Cash’s parents lived in until their death is for sale on eBay. The seller claims that by buying the house you are buying a piece of country music history.

According to the eBay blurb, “The beautiful sprawling home with 310 feet of frontage facing Old Hickory Lake has lighted stone pillars with four rail thoroughbred fencing. A horseshoe drive leads up to the estate.

There is also an additional driveway for RV/Bus Parking. The home sits across the street from the lot of the famous Johnny and June Carter Cash mansion, which is now owned by Barry Gibb of the world renowned Bee Gees. Neighboring the home is the former home place of the legendary Roy Orbison, which is next door to entertainers Marty Stuart and Connie Smith.

This four bedroom, three bath home overlooks the spectacular Old Hickory Lake. The home also contains a small recording studio. Other features include a beamed vaulted ceiling in the living room and a huge stone fireplace. The large kitchen still has the built in unique appliances that Mama Cash cooked on. The large two car carport is also used as a patio overlooking the gorgeous lake”.

Dolly Parton – now that’s a star who needs no introduction or any grace of tongue to be described. The diva and country music legend is back with a new album called ‘Backwoods Barbie’. On that album, she has a cover of the 80s classic ‘Drives Me Crazy’ by the Fine Young Cannibals. And like I said, it’s Dolly. Her cover rules! Her cover still has the 80s feel which made the song really enjoyable in the first place but then she adds her own country flavor and it became even better. I never knew I would be into country as much as this and again I have to say – it’s Dolly Parton! How could anyone not like her?
