In the late 80s and 90s, Fred Schneider and his new wave band, The B-52s, were able to score some mainstream success with hits like ‘Love Shack’ and ‘Roam’. If B-52s means you look like you’re 52 years old, then it’s pretty accurate. The 56-year old musician was recently spotted at a New York City screening on Thursday. He looked… nice.
The B-52s are reportedly releasing a new album called ‘Funplex’ in March. It will be their first original album in 16 years. If you have no idea who they are and what they sound like, Parliament Funkadelic has referred to The B-52s as “P-Funk for white people”.

Paula Abdul once said that she was not going to do a comeback and was just doing one song for a good friend. But now that she’s gotten a taste of the solo spotlight again, she realized just how much she missed it and wants more.
The ‘Straight Up’ singer has not released an album in over 10 years but she has since announced on her official website that she is working on a new CD. The site promises that a new Paula Abdul album will be coming out in the summer of this year. If he does it right, it may actually be good. I’ll hold my breath when it comes to promoting it with her performances though.

It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for. The New Kids on the Block are FINALLY staging a comeback. For those of you too young to understand, think N’Sync coming back in another 10 years.
The band’s website had previously been pretty much inactive, but now there’s a video from back in the day and a place to sign up for info on their comeback. It’s been 14 years since the band was together, and ladies in their late 20s/early 30s are gonna be lining up for this album.
Look out because I’m the biggest Joey Mc fan there is!

While it’s being reported that Paula Abdul is going to perform at this year’s Super Bowl, it is also being said that the once singer is not planning a musical comeback. She just did the one-off song for her fellow American Idol judge Randy Jackson’s new album. And I hate to say it, but it’s actually really good. It’s called ‘Dance Like There’s No Tomorrow’. Her vocals may have been manipulated beyond belief and the song sounds like something that should have been on Britney’s last album or Janet’s new one. They may even play this on the radio! But during the Super Bowl? No thanks.

Janet Jackson is looking smoking hot as she graces the cover of the new Billboard magazine. No one can look quite as classy and sassy as Miss Jackson can. The cover makes a great point too. “With a new label, a new outlook and a new single on the charts, Ms. Jackson is poised for success.”
However, not everyone seems to think so. Despite ‘Feedback’ being a great single, it really isn’t selling that well or performing amazingly on the charts. I’m not quite sure why. Maybe she just took too long to make her comeback. Or maybe Janet fans need to step it up a notch or two.

You know how you watch people on television and wanna be like them, and someone else always says that it’s not always how it looks? Well, that’s the truth when it comes to Britney Spears in her new Piece of Me video.Hey, the girl’s not fat by any means, but she’s not her previously toned hot-body either. She must be feeling the post-baby body blues because word has it that there was some doctoring up of the video to slim her down after production. Check out YouTube and plenty of other gossip rags to find pics and video to show it.
Brit – you wanna make a comeback so comeback as yourself. Don’t try and fool us into thinking you’re still at your best; but first, find the sleaze that released these pics and show him who the real fool is.

So, he retired already. But now he’s come out of that retirement for yet a second time this year.
You’d really never know that if we hadn’t told you. I mean, there isn’t much similarity between this new song and his classics. There’s no piano at all, and there’s actually only a little Billy Joel even.
Instead, Billy has done something he says he hasn’t ever done before. He wrote a song specifically for another singer. And who is that lucky singer, you ask? Cass Dillon, a 21 year old singer from Long Island.
Billy wrote the song “Christmas in Fallujah” from letters he’s received from fans overseas. He felt someone with a younger voice should sing it, instead of him. Cass Dillon was recommended by Tommy Byrnes, Billy’s musical director.
When Billy heard Cass’s songs, he knew he’d found the perfect person for the song. People are divided on whether they like the song or not, simply because of the controversial topic of war. Generally, comments are in his favor.
Piano Man, keep on writing! As for Cass Dillon, who knows? This could be his lucky break!

Could Michael Jackson finally be coming out of hiding? There are reports that Michael Jackson might appear in “The X-Factor.” Don’t you dare call MJ a lost cause! In the music business, he is what everyone strives to be! Justin Timberlake, Chris Brown, Usher, Pete Wentz even (lol)…the list could go on forever. I can’t wait! I hear he has an album on the way later this year or next year. I can’t wait for his comeback either! The Smooth Criminal is back! Love him! And why is that we always love to hit out at famous people, why is that we always love to tell someone that they are not good enough to remain in the entertainment business anymore when actually that person is striving hard to make a comeback and regain some of his lost glory. Why can we be supportive to a legend at whose feet taps the world once learnt a new dance form that became a rage. Call me crazy but I really do miss Michael Jackson. He might be a lost cause but I’m still waiting for his comeback!

Britney schmitney, give me Whitney instead.
The original whacked out diva is the comeback artist that I’m really looking forward to. And under the guidance of music mogul Clive Davis, Whitney is in much better shape at gaining massive comeback success than Britney Spears. That is, as long as she stays drug-free.
A radiant and healthy Whitney was spotted with Clive on Monday as they walked the streets of New York City. It’s nice to see that she’s looking healthy and well-taken care off. It also looks like her career is getting the same treatment.
Good luck Whitney! I’m pulling for you.

A live album originally released by Ike and Tina Turner in 1969 will make its CD debut in a three-disc career retrospective billed as the couple’s first boxed set.
The package, “The Ike and Tina Turner Story: 1960-1975,” is due in stores October 2 via Time Life.

In addition to such favorites as “Proud Mary,” “Nutbush City Limits,” and “I’ve Been Loving You Too Long,” the box includes the complete album “In Person,” which originally came out on the small Minit Records label in 1969. The disc boasts live covers of tunes like “Everyday People,” “Respect” and “Son of A Preacher Man.”
All told, the boxed set features 49 tunes, spanning the duo’s 1960 breakthrough “A Fool in Love,” which went to No. 2 on the R&B charts, to the 1975 cover of Pete Townshend’s “Acid Queen.”
The Turners divorced the following year following a tumultuous relationship recounted in harrowing detail in Tina Turner’s 1986 memoir, “I, Tina.” After almost a decade in the wilderness, she launched a massive comeback with the 1984 album “Private Dancer.”
Ike Turner, one of the originators of rock ‘n’ roll, toiled in relative obscurity, dealing with drug and legal issues, but has rebounded in recent years. He received a Grammy in February for his latest album, a blues release.
