Chaka Khan and Eric Clapton

Just because they’re old doesn’t mean they can’t make some great new music. Grammy winners Eric Clapton and Chaka Khan are offering up new releases for new and old fans.

Eric Clapton has had a productive year. He had a world tour, performed at the Crossroads Guitar Festival and his highly anticipated book ‘Clapton, The Autobiography’ was released last week on the same day that a two-disc album, ‘Complete Clapton, spanning his career was released. His 40-year career is captured in one package and even features songs from his days in Cream and Blind Faith.

In the meantime, Chaka Khan offers new material and covers on her first studio album in over 10 years ‘Funk This’. The whole album was produced by Flytetyme Productions run by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis.

The covers in the disc include songs by Prince, Joni Mitchell and Michael McDonald. There’s also a due with Mary J. Blige called ‘Disrespectful’ which sounds like a throwback to Aretha Franklin’s ‘Respect’.
