Steven Tyler recently treated a bunch of shoppers at a Home Depot to an impromptu concert when the “former” Aerosmith lead singer sang two of the band’s greatest hits a cappella over the store’s loud speaker. Multiple employees at the Home Depot in Rancho Mirage, California said that Steven randomly picked up the microphone and belted out snippets of ‘Dude Looks Like a Lady’ and ‘I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing’ for everyone to enjoy. Here’s the kicker – Steven apparently took a hit from a helium machine and kept singing Bee Gees style while signing autographs for anyone who wanted it. He has to be the coolest guy ever!

Simon Cowell is reportedly in negotiations with legendary film producer Robert Stigwood to obtain the rights to ‘Saturday Night Fever’ for a remake. Simon wants Zac Efron to play the lead role of disco king Tony Manero which was originally played by John Travolta. It is also being said that Timbaland was tapped to rework the famous Bee Gees soundtrack. They must all be on crack. I have no other explanation for it. A source said “Robert was keen to get some assurances the original wouldn’t be completely butchered before he agreed to the deal.” If he has any brains, he will never sign that deal.

Bee Gee brother Robin Gibb recently revealed that the brothers will have a musical based on their greatest hits ready within the next 18 months. This will be a follow up to their first dip into musical theater ‘Saturday Night Fever’. That show premiered in London’s West End in 1998 and was stages for 2 years. The Bee Gees are songwriting geniuses. Here’s to hoping that they develop a story line for the musical that will hold a candle to their tunes. It can’t be all just thrown in together otherwise, it would just seem like a Bee Gees concert without the Bee Gees singing.
