Paul McCartney got an honorary Doctorate of Music from Yale University on Monday afternoon. Yale has given the same honor to some of the greatest music legends, including Elvis, Sinatra, Prince, Smokey Robinson and the other three Beatles. What?! I can’t believe Sir Paul was the last to be honored. Actually, none of the above mentioned ever went to Yale. But Ezra Sims, a composer and an expert in microtonal music, is an alumnus. Now you know why none of the music legends ever came from Yale. I doubt that they would be music legends if they did study there.

The last unfinished John Lennon track could see the light of day as a tribute to “fifth Beatle” Neil Aspinall who died last week.

Now And Then was unearthed with Real Love and Free As A Bird during the Fab Four’s Anthology series in the 1990s. While the other two tracks were spruced up by Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr and went on to become top ten hits, Now And Then was left untouched.

Neil worked as chief of Apple Corps until last year and ensured The Beatles profited from their back catalogue. An insider said: “There have been discussions about finishing Now And Then. It would be quite a task. The process of re-recording the two tracks that charted was fairly painless because the songs were almost complete. Now And Then will need a significant amount more work to get it into a condition where it could be released.”

With George also dead, I reckon Paul and Ringo should work together one last time in tribute to departed members of the group’s inner circle.

Neil Aspinall, known to many as the ‘fifth Beatle’ has passed away at the age of 66 in New York City. Mr. Aspinall died of lung cancer. He was known as the fifth member of the legendary band for his long time support. He was a school friend of Paul McCartney and George Harrison. He was also the band’s first road manager who would drive them to gigs in his band. He later became their personal assistant and was then given a management role at Apple Records, The Beatles’ own label, in 1968. Despite no musical training, Mr. Aspinall also sang in the chorus of ‘Yellow Submarine’. Surviving Beatles Paul and Ringo Starr made a joint statement saying how much he will be missed.

Ringo is a Snob

One of the two surviving Beatles, Ringo Starr, was spotted on Monday night and it seems that he was in a less than friendly mood. He refused to stop to pose for photos or sign a single autograph in New York. Autograph seekers tried everything to get a rise out of the former mop top by shouting “Sign for the dead people, sign for Martin Luther King” but to no avail. The Beatle stonewalled them all by shouting and pushing his way through and out of the crowd. Just because you were once part of the band who thought they were more famous than Jesus doesn’t mean you can be a snob!

Nine solo albums by the late George Harrison have been made available to download for the first time. The announcement means solo music by all four members of The Beatles can now be purchased digitally. Isn’t this some great news for all Beatle fans and the entire music community, our music needs to be free and not bound by the clutches of record companies who will pay the artist some exorbitant amount of money to make albums and they we have to pay a hell lot to buy their CDs. I also somehow support the thing that pop artist Prince did some time back when his new CD was made available for free with a newspaper during the distribution. The conclusion of a lengthy legal battle between the band’s label Apple Corps and Apple Inc, which owns iTunes, paved the way for the developments. Well once these albums see the daylight for being available for download then I think there shall be a movement for more such albums to follow suit.

Fans of Paul McCartney can now learn how to play his songs online via a video tutorial - by the legendary rocker himself. Thank you very much sir McCartney wish more musicians had half the CLASS that you have shown for most of my life… very much a fan of all you say and do! I think the sign up for downloading a copy of this tutorial shall be every expensive affair but it’s not often that people get a chance to have Paul McCartney as your guide and tell you how to be a good musician. I think some of these so called artist to should not be ashamed and should sign up here to take classes from Paul to improve their horrible skills, I am not going to name any artist cause it could be not be appropriate to name some morons here but I know some of these would know that it’s an opportunity to learn a few tips from the legend

Late rocker John Lennon and actor Michael Caine got drunk together and “behaved badly” when they first met. The Beatles legend met Caine at the Cannes Film Festival in France in 1964, where they quickly became friends and drinking partners. John might be one of the greatest known Beatle in the world with Paul McCartney but he is also as well known for his retaliatory nature and fighting against the US establishment for various reasons and that made him a natural rebellious person in his own style. So he needed a person who he could get along with and shares his rebellious nature and secrets with. So that’s what these guys could do for the best thing two creative people would do together, drink and keep drinking till both of them spill out all the secrets of the life they spend at night.

Former Beatle Ringo Starr is giving up acting to throw himself back into the music industry. The 67-year-old featured in a string of movies with his former band mates including A Hard Day’s Night and Magical Mystery Tour, and continued to indulge his passion for acting after the band split. I didn’t realize Ringo acted. He did appear in Help, a Hard Day’s Night, MMT and some caveman movie, but I’d hardly call it acting. Ringo ~~ get over yourself. Some people continue to pursue their dreams and someday finally find success they always craved for, but unfortunately Ringo could never reach the heights he set out to achieve. No probs man, you are a lucky man, you have another talent which you can always fall back on in dire straits. It’s like a former model that chooses to start a acting career coz she’s bored of the ramp walk, she’s just a glam doll with a beautiful smile but cannot act and therefore never finds a foot hole in Hollywood. What she does is a thing I need to tell – dump people – she goes back to modeling again. As simple as that and the same for Ringo.
