And it’s going to be a very epic one at that. It looks like the singer is going to release a new album that will feature songs written by Kara DioGuardi and performed together with her or Jack Black and other sonorous names. This is what Meat Loaf himself said about the album: “It’s the story of a soldier. He’s been in battle and he’s lying face down on the ground. He can’t move, but he turns his head and starts to see blood run across the ground, and so he thinks he’s going to die. They always say you see your life flash backward when you’re about to die. But his life flashes forward – into what possibly could happen. He sees what his life could be: the good and the bad.” Well, with such a story Meat Loaf is bound to make his new record a hit…or maybe not since he’s not a former American Idol fan and all that. But he does still have his old fans… hopefully.

Swedish pop star Robyn is releasing a bunch of new music this year. All in all, the singer is planning to put out three new albums. She must be making up for lost time. The albums will feature a Royksopp-produced track, a rap duet with Snoop Dogg and a track which was produced by Diplo. I can’t wait to hear the new stuff that Robyn has to offer. It’s about time that she puts something new out there. While I love all her classic hits, it’s not enough to keep fans interested. I wonder when the exact dates are for her releases.

For their first release since 1990’s ‘Smooth Noodle Maps’, the legendary band Devo picked singer Santigold to produce songs for their new as yet to be titled album. Lead singer Mark Mothersbaugh said that they received offers from 20 producers, including Snoop Dogg and Fatboy Slim, to help in the studio, but trusted Santigold to remix their tracks. The singer spoke of the collaboration saying “They’re just, like, my band idols. Them and The Smiths. But DEVO, I made them pull out the red hats and pose for a picture.” The highly anticipated album is due out this coming spring.

Apparently Chris Martin is a bit worried about Coldplay’s fans so they’ve decided to work with Brian Eno in order to make a new album that will be pleasing to all of the band’s fans. A source said the following about Coldplay’s new move: “Chris is determined not to be seen as a huge commercial rock juggernaut, filling stadiums and cashing in.” Right… that’s why they’re hiring a specialist to make their album instead of just going with their artistic gut. Really nice job for Coldplay, what’s next, lip-synching? They’d better not go to Australia with that… they might actually sell out!
