Who knew that the people over in New Zealand were AC/DC fans, much less rowdy AC/DC fans? While the band was performing at the Westpac Stadium in Wellington, New Zealand, concert goers descended into absolute chaos which resulted in over 50 arrests for drunk and disorderly behavior and 6 ambulances being called to the venue to take care of the drunks and the drugged. Most cops would be calling the concert a mess but Inspector Mike Coleman says that the amount of debauchery was “not bad, (for) a full moon and a nice hot night”. He has to be one of the most chill people ever!

AC/DC continues to rock the charts as the old Australian rockers’ new release ‘Black Ice’ has sold 271,000 copies during the week which ended on November 2. That number was good enough to put them at the top spot for the second week in a row. To this date, the band has sold 1 million copies of their newest album. Good job oldies! I guess being old school pays. Pink came in at the runner up spot by selling 180,000 copies of ‘Funhouse’. Zac Efron and his ‘High School Musical’ crew took the third spot by selling 162,000 copies of the movie’s soundtrack.

AC/DC has had an amazing week. The old school rockers from down under just scored the biggest sales debut of the year by selling 784,000 copies of their newest release ‘Black ice’. Lil Wayne’s ‘Tha Carter III’ currently holds the year’s top spot in sales by selling 1 million copies in a week. In this week’s race, AC/DC was able to block the soundtrack to ‘High School Musical 3’ from the top spot. Zac Efron and crew only managed to move 297,000 copies of the soundtrack. AC/DC kicked HSM3 to the curb hard! It just goes to show that rock still rules over pop.

AC/DC says no to iTunes. Instead of letting the fans get it easy via the digital media along with the option to purchase just one track or the entire album, AC/DC devotees will have to head to either a Wal-Mart or Sam’s Club to pick up their new album or purchase it off their official website. Lead singer Brian Johnson thinks that digital outlets are just going to kill music because they’re all after the money. He said “It’s a…monster, this thing. It just worries me. And I’m sure they’re just doing it all in the interest of making as much…cash as possible. Let’s put it this way, it’s certainly not for the…love, let’s get that out of the way, right away.”
