Ronnie Wood teams with Liberty for fashion line
Ronnie Wood, 62, has teamed up with Liberty of London to launch a clothing line inspired by his paintings.
The Rolling Stone has used three paintings for the collection, including one titled I Feel Like Painting created on what Ronnie calls: “the day when I decided to turn my life around”, after a six-week stint in rehab for alcohol-related problems.
The unusual collaboration arose from a casual meeting between Wood and Tamara Salman, creative director of Liberty. It was also the root of an explosive argument Wood had with his girlfriend, Ekaterina, 20, who wanted to design the range, according to the Daily Mail.
Department store Liberty’s Ronnie Wood collection features dresses with price tags ranging from £195 to £695, t-shirts from £175 to £195 and men’s shirts based on I Feel Like Painting, for £395. Accessories such as scarves, bags and wallets are priced from £175 to £1,200.
The arty Wood has also drawn from a painting titled Orchid, which is of an Oriental-style flower, and Hawaiian Guitar about rock ‘n roll.
