Punk veteran John Lydon, formerly Johnny Rotten, the notorious frontman of the Sex Pistols, is reforming his second band, Public Image Ltd (PiL), after 17 years.

The band will embark on a mini-tour starting in the UK in December, Lydon, 53, has revealed.

“We’ll see where we can go. Some things may be quite similar, some may not,” he said.

The Sex Pistols were pioneers of the 1970s punk movement in England, with singles such as Anarchy In The UK and God Save The Queen.

Lydon formed PiL in 1978 – 12 months after the disintegration of the Sex Pistols – and the group lasted for eight years.
