Famed songwriter Ellie Greenwich recently passed away at the age of 68. Ellie died of a heart attack at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital in New York, where she had been staying in the hospital fighting off pneumonia. She has contributed a lot to the music and theater industry as she has penned songs for the Tony-nominated musical ‘Leader of the Pack’ as well as being responsible for the classics ‘Be My Baby’, ‘Da Doo Ron Ron’, and ‘Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)’. Ellie has also worked with the biggest names in the business, including Neil Diamond, Frank Sinatra, Phil Spector and even Cyndi Lauper.
