Dame Elizabeth Taylor turns down invitation to speak at Jacko memorial

Grief-stricken Dame Elizabeth Taylor will not attend the epic memorial service for Michael Jackson in Los Angeles.
Taylor, a longtime friend and public supporter of the singer, has tweeted: “I just don’t believe that Michael would want me to share my grief with millions of others.
“How I feel is between us. Not a public event.”
The 77-year-old screen star, who was recently in hospital for what she called a routine check-up, said she was asked to speak at the memorial service.
But she added: “I cannot be part of the public hoopla…. And I cannot guarantee that I would be coherent to say a word.”
She wrote of her devotion to Jackson: “I will always love Michael from the depth of my being and nothing can separate us.
“My love goes out to Katherine [Jackson] and Michael’s beloved children.”
