Music legend Phil Spector has not only had to give up his freedom after being convicted of murdering actress Lana Clarkson – but also his wigs.

The fallen star has been forced to surrender his hairpieces after being found guilty of second degree murder.

According to a report on RadarOnline.com, Spector will not be able to wear any of his infamous wigs while in prison following his conviction.

Spector was photographed for his mug-shot with a mousy shoulder length weave and had previously turned up in court in a variety of wild and bizarre hairpieces.

After he was fond guilty Spector was taken to Los Angeles’ Twin Towers prison where he had to remove his hair piece.

A jail source revealed: “The wig would be considered as contraband and would be confiscated along with any other personal items.”

That will no doubt come as a psychological blow to Spector who has been photographed wearing a variety of wigs since he shot Clarkson, 40, at his Alhambra mansion in February 2003.

Spector has also been given a ‘keep-away’ status because of his notoriety and he will not be mixing with the mainstream inmates in case they try and attack him.
