Vintage Sting in the offing
Attention fans. You can now have a piece of Sting in Vintage formula. This after Gordon Sumner aka Sting announed he would bottle his own wine straight from his own estate. Sting is the newest in the long lien of celebrities inclduing Francis Ford Coppola, Madonna and Paul Newman to have launched their own bottles of wine. Sting is set to come out with 30,000 bottled of red wine straight from his Tuscan Estate by September.
Sting said he will market two types of red wines inlcuding Chianti DOC and one vased on the Sangiovese grape. The 57-year old singer has not yet decided on a name for his Vintage wines but suffice it to say that his produce can be characterized as “rocl music wine” as his estate manager Paolo Rossi would like us to believe. Sting and his wife Trudie Styler owns a 300-hectare Italian villa which they purchased back in 1997. The villa, which is now a workign organic farm, will produce not only wine but also olive oil and honey. Sting’s honey and olive oil products are being sold under the name II Palagio Sumner Family through the Harrods Department Store.Incidentally, a certain percentage of the earnings from the wine will go to the Rainforest Foundation and the Soil Association.
