The Smithsonian Wants Aretha Franklin

The Smithsonian in DC has asked Aretha Franklin if she would be alright with having to say goodbye to her Luke Song hat to be part of President Obama’s Inaugural display. The Queen of Soul was pretty hesitant about it though saying “I am considering it. It would be hard to part with my chapeau since it was such a crowning moment in history. I would like to smile every time I look back at it and remember what a great moment it was in American and African-American history.” I know I’ll always remember what took place when I see that hat.
