Mattel has released a special edition wedding Elvis and Priscilla Barbie set just in time for Elvis week in Memphis. The dolls are even wearing replica outfits of what the couple wore on their wedding day in Las Vegas on May 1, 1967. The dolls are such hot commodities that they’re actually already sold out. Saturday marked the 31st anniversary of the King’s death. May he rest in peace. But the fact that there are still so many people using his image in their capitalist ways, I doubt he will anytime soon. On the other hand, it’s king of nice to know that the spirit of Elvis lives on.
