The treatment you get when you happen to be a former Beatles star is comparable to the one you get when you happen to be the president. Apparently, Paul McCartney arrived late on Friday night just before the start of a Billy Joel concert that he was set to attend. So what does he do? He gets the NYPD to escort him from JFK Airport to Shea Stadium in less than 15 minutes. The distance is about 11 miles away. Sir Paul’s plane landed shortly after 11pm. He made it to the stadium complete with police escort at 11:20 to surprise everyone. How does it feel to see where exactly those tax dollars are going?
