Sting slammed for carbon footprint

Eco-activist Sting has been criticised by environmental campaigners for creating a huge carbon footprint with his band The Police at the Live Earth concert.

The group reformed last year to tour and made an appearance at the Al Gore organised event in the summer. The aim of the event was to raise awareness and battle climate change.

John Buckley, of Carbonfootprint.com, says, “At Live Earth in New Jersey where the Police played, the biggest emissions weren’t from the concert, it was the fans.”

So it wasn’t really Sting’s fault then?

Hmmm regardless, The Police had been voted the worst offenders of the music industry; with bands such as Babyshambles and Radiohead being deemed the more eco-friendly acts.
