The Piano – P J Harvey
PJ Harvey’s White Chalk, in my opinion, is one of her greatest releases in recent years. She has created a beautiful array of melancholic tracks that are engrossing and hypnotic. Her voice floats through the poignant lyrics and shines among the intense emotions that are strongly apparent throughout the album.PJ Harvey’s much lauded album White Chalk was released in September this year. Recorded mainly on piano, White Chalk has been described as “a brave and brilliant refocusing of her energies” by Mojo, and as a “haunting mini masterpiece” by the Financial Times.
PJ has chosen to release The Piano from White Chalk. It will be released on November 26th through Island Records. The Piano will be released on download and limited edition 7” vinyl. It is the second single from PJ Harvey’s eighth studio album White Chalk, The Piano will be backed with Heaven, a song written and recorded in 1988 during one of Harvey’s first ever recording sessions.
