Too Tempting to Not Sue
November 2nd, 2007 by Hannah

There’s only one surviving member left of the original Temptations and he is suing three former members of the band for using the name which he claims they have no right in doing.
Otis Williams filed a lawsuit on Friday where he alleges that he is the only person who has rights to the name ‘The Temptations’ but that Glenn Leonard, Ali Woodson and Barrington Henderson, who are former members of the group, have been performing under the name ‘Legendary Lead Singers of the Temptations’ and/or ‘The Temptations Reunion Show’ since 2004.
Williams claims this is copyright infringement and that they are hurting his reputation by accepting lesser billing and lesser fees.

I’m judging by the book, the movie, THE TEMPTATIONS they all should have sued YOU , I saw that you did nothing that much
,but try and did take over other ideas and act like it was yours, all
the other singers can sing and had a purpose to open their mouth but you knew you could not sing, although you would have lead a song within and after all thoughs years you used them. I know BUSINESS
and the last one living or so you say surviving.
No one should have the right to perform and use the “The Temptations” name other than the five ORIGINAL MEMBERS!! Only one exists and that’s Otis Williams. Any one else cashing in by performing as a “Temptaion” without Otis’ blessing is a thief. Otis co-founded this act and it doesn’t matter who thinks he can sing or not. Anyone that watched the movie KNOWS that he and Melvin were the “level heads” who kept the group going. I’m a lead singer and I know that not everyone is meant to sing lead. Never mind that, the fact remains, OTIS was an original founder of the group and SHOULD have all the rights. Good luck to you Otis. I hope you win your law suit. I’ve seen “The Temptation’s” movie on VH1 three times and it always grabs me. I’ll watch it again next time it’s on. One more thing on the comment from “Harriet” entitled “Too Tempting to Not Sue”; Harriet, learn to spell and use proper grammer!
