Neil Young Album: Chrome Dreams II

My Mom and Dad love Young’s music. I remember them being nostalgic listening to his songs. I clearly remember their discussions why all this time, Young remained a Canadian citizen, although he has lived in the US for over 40 years and continuous to do so. Americans love Young’s songs, and made him famous and ultra rich. And yet, Young constantly demean the American way of life. Worse, as a Canadian, he dubbed into American Politics. As an American, I will not bad mouth Canadian way of life, nor I have the right to, much less get involve in Canadian politics. I don’t get Young’s contempt in the American way of life. But then again, may be Young is right about Americans – that we are so taken by Bush’ phoniness. May be Young is correct after all, that Americans are so dim witted voting for this drunk twice. Bill Maher thinks so.

I want to know what concern it is to the person that said Neil is from Canada, lives here, and is concerned about “OUR” government! HMM
how many people from differnt countries are there living here in the States? Leave him alone. I think it is about time the truth is heard. I don’t blame him for not wanting to change citizenship. I am a citizen and yes sometimes I’m embarrassed to be one.
Comes a time when you settle down. Neil was born in Canada and started his music here. Who’s to say that if Canada had 300 million people here to buy his music he probably would still be here. But after going to the good ole USA and meeting his wife and mother of his children and raising them there, it’s harder to pack up and move again. He’s never been one to live in the city centre. He’s on a ranch with wide open spaces that he loves. Who wouldn’t. I’m 55 years old and have been listening to Neil for a long, long time. And yes I am an old hippie that tries to make it in this modern digital world. But old ways catches up to you and it becomes harder.
Thanks Neil
I love ya
Rick
